Frequently Asked Questions
What does PivotPoint Consulting do?
PivotPoint Consulting was created to serve as an intelligence and analytical contact for security consultants and the investigator industry. We embark on our mission to serve as a centralized resource by providing training, consulting support, and occasionally publishing content.
Our founder, former FBI Intelligence Analyst Melody Bruns, also serves as a start-up business coach for anyone wanting to start their own consulting (or other) business.
Do you offer training?
We do! You can see our current offerings here. We focus on providing training related to critical thinking, biases and mindsets, and analytical techniques, and we have a variety of additional topics we can instruct on. Contact us today with your training needs!
How much is your training?
Our training fee depends on the length of the training, number of trainers, and number of attendees. We believe everyone should be able to have access to analytical and critical thinking training and will work with your company or department to accommodate.
What resources do you publish and where can I find them?
Join our mailing list and follow us on LinkedIn for free offerings and resources as they become available. You can also purchase any prior edition of the Focused Private Intelligence® newsletter through our website, and it will be automatically sent to your email electronically.
I’m in need of consulting support. Can you help me with that?
Yes! We provide a wide range of consulting services, including leading research projects, one-on-one support, or team strategy sessions. Additionally, if you require in-depth research to be completed and lack the resources to do it, we have the ability and capability to consult on a wide range of topics. When we complete our research, we will document our findings and assessment of the information in a written product exclusive to you, our client. These products are sometime referred to as “white papers.” Ideas on topics we can research include:
Emerging methodologies and/or technologies and their impact
Fraud trends related to a particular topic, and
Policy changes and their possible impact on investigations
